This workshop will provide simple actionable things you can do to get started with networking or boost your existing networking for added results. We will look at simple ways to effectively network on LinkedIn and social media, in person, and via other means. Leave with LOTS of ideas to put into action today!

Paul Cecala, a certified Global Career Development Facilitator, corporate trainer, and published author of 2 books, has been coaching since 1999 and has assisted over 4000 people in either changing careers or starting their professional lives. Paul’s clients praise his expertise in project planning a job search, networking, and securing offers from the interview. He is known for his listening skills and practical, pragmatic, and tactical coaching style. His latest book, "Take Control of Your Job Search” was ranked an Amazon #1Best Seller in its category.

He has worked for several post-secondary career schools as Director of Career Services specializing in Biotech/Pharmaceutical careers, Green Economy jobs, aviation, allied health, IT, and general administrative professions. He has also worked as a program manager for lifelong learning and workforce development training at 2 colleges, and as a senior career counselor for a NJ workforce development office. He is a member of the National Career Development Association and is on the board of the NJ chapter.

Paul has presented over 600 seminars on topics ranging from career pathing to interview follow-up for organizations including universities and schools, networking and job search groups, and multiple libraries throughout the East Coast of the USA.

Paul has a BS in Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology. Prior to career coaching, he was a corporate aviation sales executive. He lives in northern New Jersey with his husband and son. He is a licensed aircraft pilot, an avid kayaker, and enjoys hiking.

Ken Lang is the co-founder of My Networking Central, a searchable database for networking events and speakers. He also serves as a brand specialist for Lee Hecht Harrison, an outplacement service, focusing on LinkedIn best practices. He also helps small business owners maximize their presence on LinkedIn.

Ken will be discussing the latest LinkedIn changes and how they impact job search; he will then show us how LinkedIn can be used as a search engine for job specs, to locate companies and contacts, and to view other similar profiles to better maximize your experience.

Ken will do this via demonstrations and as a training session. Ken will be looking to us for audience participation to help guide him through any specific questions that come up.
