Going through a job search is without question a highly challenging and stressful period in anyone’s life. This is the ultimate head game. The stories you tell yourself, and the stories you tell in your job search, can be very powerful in managing your head, your attitude, your energy and ultimately your search success. It is easy to get discouraged, lose your focus and then your momentum. To be successful you need to develop a bag of tricks that work for you: develop and fine tune your self-discipline muscle, recognize the power of setting goals, create a marketing plan, track your activities to ensure you really know how hard you are working, make the most of LinkedIn, find a job buddy or two and give yourself a treat at the end of a good day. Celia Currin, Executive Career Coach, will explore the many proactive things you can do during this stressful period to help you keep your ego intact and your emotions in control. This period calls for skills that few come by naturally – and even for those lucky ones -- it is still stressful.
