Come to a WNO meeting and fill out a registration form or register on-line by joining the WNO Yahoo group! We view ourselves as a community, in which you can participate in whatever manner you choose.
How do I register to attend a WNO meeting?
If you are already a member, you will receive an EventBrite invitation. Complete the form as indicated. Walk-ins are welcome on first-come, first-serve basis.
How do I get added to the meeting invitation distribution list?
If you are not a member, send us a message requesting to be added.
Is there a membership fee?
The WNO is open to all and free of charge. There's no fee to join or to attend meetings.
How do I join the WNO Yahoo! Group?
Go to the WNO Yahoo! Group website. On the right-hand side of the page, in the “Home” section, is a blue “Join This Group!” button; click this button to join. If you have a Yahoo! ID, sign in and join the group. If you do not already have a Yahoo! ID, there is a link further down on this page to first sign up for one; then you will be able to join the group. Follow the directions on the “Join This Group” page to which you are taken: select an e-mail address (if Yahoo recognizes more than one for you), write a very short note about who you are as the “Comment to Owner”, select your preferences for receiving messages, type in the CAPTCHA code, and click “Join” at the bottom of the page.
You will receive an e-mail message with the subject line of "REQUIRED READING - Request to Join." (Check your spam folder if you do not see the "REQUIRED READING" message in your inbox.) You must respond to that message before your request will be approved. Membership requests for the purpose of marketing products or services will be rejected.
How do I post to the WNO Yahoo! Group?
There are two methods:
- The easiest is to compose your post in an email message, and send it to Westchester_Networking_Organization@yahoogroups.com.
- You can post directly on the board. To do so, go to http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/Westchester_Networking_Organization/ In the left-hand menu, click on "Post." A post form will open. Complete as normal and click the "Send" button when done.
How do I become a member of the WNO LinkedIn Group?
As the WNO LinkedIn Group is primarily used for discussions among members, we request that you attend at least one WNO meeting. After your first WNO meeting, you will automatically receive an invitation to the LinkedIn group. Accept the invitation. (NOTE: You must have a LinkedIn profile to access the LinkedIn group.)
How do I post to the WNO LinkedIn Group?
Go to the WNO LinkedIn Group page. Type your post in the "Start discussion or share something with your group" field. Press Enter when done.
How do I communicate with the WNO Steering Committee?
Send us a message. A member of the WNO Steering Committee will respond.
Is there a dress code for WNO meetings?
Attendees are requested to dress in business casual.
What should I bring to the WNO meeting?
A primary goal of the WNO meetings is to network, so you will want to bring materials that will best facilitate that effort. We recommend that attendees bring business cards, copies of their marketing plan and a pen. For more information about professional networking, please see Networking Best Practices and Other Tips.
