What is the WNO?
The Westchester Networking Organization (WNO) is a volunteer-run organization focused on career fulfillment. Members may be in transition, changing careers or exploring self-employment. WNO members are committed to assisting one another so that we are all able to reach our goals.
What are the advantages of belonging to the WNO?
Networking (across multiple fields), free one-on-one career coaching at meetings, presentations by subject matter experts at meetings, message boards for member communication and job listings and, most importantly, a safe, supportive environment.
Where are WNO meetings held?
Currently, we host our monthly WNO meetings via Zoom. To attend, you will need to register online for on of our weekly meetings.
When are WNO meetings held?
The WNO meets year-round. Every meeting starts at 5:45 p.m. Eastern Time, and ends before 8:15 p.m. As of January 2017, we are exploring dates and will have updated information about our calendar by February 2017.
How do I become a member of the WNO?
Come to a WNO meeting and fill out a registration form or register on-line by joining the WNO Yahoo group! We view ourselves as a community, in which you can participate in whatever manner you choose.
How do I register to attend a WNO meeting?
If you are already a member, you will receive an EventBrite invitation. Complete the form as indicated. Walk-ins are welcome on first-come, first-serve basis.
How do I get added to the meeting invitation distribution list?
If you are not a member, send us a message requesting to be added.
Is there a membership fee?
The WNO is open to all and free of charge. There's no fee to join or to attend meetings.
How do I become a member of the WNO LinkedIn Group?
As the WNO LinkedIn Group is primarily used for discussions among members, we request that you attend at least one WNO meeting. After your first WNO meeting, you will automatically receive an invitation to the LinkedIn group. Accept the invitation. (NOTE: You must have a LinkedIn profile to access the LinkedIn group.)
How do I post to the WNO LinkedIn Group?
Go to the WNO LinkedIn Group page. Type your post in the "Start discussion or share something with your group" field. Press Enter when done.
How do I communicate with the WNO Steering Committee?
Send us a message. A member of the WNO Steering Committee will respond.
Is there a dress code for WNO meetings?
Attendees are requested to dress in business casual.
What should I bring to the WNO meeting?
A primary goal of the WNO meetings is to network, so you will want to bring materials that will best facilitate that effort.
