The job market and the economy are in flux.  How do you best present yourself for this and any job market?   How do you make it easier for people to help you?  How do you use the means of search to your advantage?  

• Career Coach Jay Colan will present key strategies for an effective job search. He will cover:
• Clarifying focus: What do you do? What do you want to do next?
• Skills: How up to date are you on your skills?
• Target List: Where do you want to work/make contacts?
• Talking to people: How do you best engage people who can help you?
• Sharing resources Challenges: What are some challenges to job search and how to best deal with them

​Jay Colan brings extensive experience in career management to our meeting. He is an independent coach, while also working for some of the most prestigious firms in career management. Jay is known for his skills in career/job search decision making and skill development plans based on the rapidly changing employment landscape. He collaborates with people on all aspects of the search process including assessing the viability of a change in direction, engaging people to unearth opportunities, interviewing, negotiating, and assessing offers as well as on-boarding into new roles.

He does this in 1:1 coaching sessions, as well as by developing and presenting seminars and leading networking groups. He has presented and facilitated discussions at the Harvard Business School Club of New York, NYU courses in life and career planning, the Risk Management Association, Metropolitan Healthcare Administrators, and New York Social Media Week, among others.
